The B.S. playoff "rankings" are out. This whole thing is a complete farce. Ohio St. would crush the other teams in the alleged upper echelon. But because they don't get the benefit of playing the annually overrated teams -- Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M -- their strength of schedule is allegedly worse.

And yes, the rankings within the top 4 don't really matter much, unless you're No. 4 by a thread. But objective media should be ripping this system a new one. It sucks hard.

Right. So prior years' results should be part of this year. Yet we should ignore the non-results from teams like Georgia that hadn't even been in a title game in decades until last year.

We have seen this movie basically every damn year. The SEC is the top dog. The B1G [mostly tO$U] usually falls on its face when it gets into the playoff. ND falls on its face. The ACC is one team. The Pac/Big 12 suck.

Last year <> results from literally 10-15 years ago.

Also, I am stunned -- STUNNED, I TELL YOU -- that a league succeeds when it (1) plays one fewer conference game; (2) plays BCS teams in mid-November; (3) generally plays almost every postseason game in its region; (4) dinks with the scholarship requirements to have players in reserve; (5) benefits EVERY YEAR from an inflated SOS rating based on frauds like Kentucky being ranked 7th. A result from 15 years ago when Tressel was still coach should not even remotely be in the conversation in the 2022 season.

Also, arbitrary, isolated examples like "DERP! WHAT ABOUT (game from 12 years ago)?" or "Well, Wake Forest was ranked 10th this season AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED" change nothing. There is one league that has figured out how to exploit this shitpile of a system.

BTW, remember when conference championships were allegedly the gold standard? Funny how that changed right about the time Alabama didn't win its conference.

But let's keep shitting on teams like TCU. After all, they don't play giants like South Carolina, so their wins are irrelevant!

If anyone on the playoff committee is evaluating 2022 teams based on 2012 performance, then it's time to shut the whole thing down and just do a blind draw.

There hasn't been a true title winner since 2005 Texas. Everything since then has relied on some conclusion based on some idiotic premise about how some wins just don't matter. My favorite part of the whole thing came last season when Alabama lost to Texas A&M, and before the spin was done, the loss was actually better than a win. That is how utterly moronic this whole thing has become.

Example 453,678: I GUARANTEE that if a team outside the SEC were living LSU's lie right now of being ranked 10th, we would never hear the end of it. If, say, Michigan had lost some craptastical game to FSU and then had risen back up in the polls, we'd hear all the same shit about games from 20-25 years ago, and how those should mean (insert some dumb conclusion).
