If it's pure money, they had better plays. The Pac TV deal sucks in part because wear coast sports markets have fractional value compared to the south and east.

What better plays are there? B1G football is completely overrated. They get B1G money and B1G exposure nationwide. They probably are able to present great NIL opprtunities now. They have awesome weather and hot cheerleaders who aren't grazing on artificial turf like in Champaign, Madison, or bumfuck Iowa. The opportunity for them to kill it is within reach.

If your goal is media market expansion with sun and better football, I would pitch Clemson and Florida State. I'd also advocate for UNC and Goergia Tech and would gladly kick out Rutgers and Nebraska.

I assume Notre Dame told them no, but obviously you ask.

For west coast teams, UW and Oregon both have higher program valuations than UCLA and USC. LA sucks as a college sports market.

Yeah, I feel like the ACC is going to die.  SEC and B1G will swallow them up.

As far as ND, they will either join the B1G or get left out in the cold.

Bullshit. USC is THE pro football team in LA. There are more Walmart Trojans out there than Walmart Wolverines in the State of Michigan.

You would rather have the Carolinas, Tallahassee, Washington state, and Oregon markets over the second largest media market in the US? What are you drinking/smoking?

As long as ND has its own football TV deal (that they like), it doesn't care. That may change soon.

If these conferences get huge, non con football will probably be a thing of the past.  Who's gonna play ND then, if they're not in a conference?

We're headed down to two: The Union Conference and The Confederacy Conference. Just change the names now and be done with it.

4 super conferences of 16 teams. 64 teams for post season hoops and 12-16 for post season fb.
Work out new tv rights.
See ya, NCAA. Been nice knowing you.

If the Big 10 stays with 16 teams, I’d welcome changing the basketball schedule around to playing every team twice. There’s your 30 game regular season.  It’d add legitimacy to conference titles too.  Plus it’d eliminate all the shitty directional school games which in theory will make season tickets more valuable.

I think this move will hurt USC/UCLA a lot in recruiting non revenue sports.  Not many athletes will want to be traveling across time zones so often for games.  I think they counting on more west coast teams being added so that lessens the burden.

You are a dumbass. USC and UCLA don't give a crap about non revenue sports. When did you become as stupid as JudgeJudy?

Man fuck that. The B1G season is a bad enough grind as it is. Imagine playing basically your entire schedule against the same teams every year. If this comes to pass I hope our west coast road trips treat us better then they have historically treated the Sox.

Imagine playing basically your entire schedule against the same teams every year.

That’s what pro sports are and it appears college sports are going to follow the same model.

Season ticket holders would love it.  You’d get 15 Power 5 home opponents. Big TV matchups all season.

The goal should be eliminating the need to ever play a team beneath your level.  There’s no reason Illinois should play Jackson State, Longwood, Chicago State ever again if they are part of a 16 team conference.

Plus, this is all about selling TV rights to games.  The more conference games the more valuable the TV deal will be.  I see conference basketball games going to at least 24 games initially and maybe more.  Football could be a full 12 games within the conference.  No more paying directional schools for wins

1. Why does the Pac TV deal suck despite dominating media markets 2, 6, 11, and 12? How did the B1G even survive pre-Rutgers and Maryland?
2. Have you ever actually seen apparel sales numbers?
