Except very little of the costs got passed along to the consumer, Chris. The left was screaming bloody murder about that happening when the tariffs went into effect but yet at the end of the year inflation wasn’t anything like they told us it was going to be. Why? Because exporters and importers ate a lot of it, and didn’t pass it along. But yet they’re still peddling this lie. Once again, the market is nimble and adjusts. Tariffs don’t happen in a vacuum.

Chris is being a little dramatic with the $1700 stuff and lots of upstream exporters and importers are costs instead of passing them along. Luckily gas and other stuff went down during those times and probably more than offset it, at least it did for me.

We certainly will find out when the shitload of class actions claims are filed on behalf of customers when the businesses get their "refunds" from the admin.

I warned a client 2 months ago about this as they are one of the businesses suing the admin over the tariffs. Warned them to be ready to get sued once that money comes back.
