Not big into the gilded aesthetic?

My preference is No Kings.  Ever been to Versailles?

that's pretty beautiful, might wanna get your eyes checked

or would you rather have them do the gastro pub aesthetic with metal chairs, edison bulbs, cement flooring and shitty reclaimed wood everywhere

He's building a ball room, not a night club.

I would just prefer something less gaudy.

Or is it "Gawdy"

We all understand this is really a tomb that will hold his golden sarcophagus, right?

I told you 3 months ago that this was going to happen before the first of the year. The administration acknowledged clear back before April that tariffs with China would likely hurt farmers in the short run but that they would make it right.

Just like closing the border, deporting criminals, cracking down on dangerous drugs, cleaning up our cities, rebalancing trade, and bringing grocery/gas prices down: another promise kept!

if the soybean prices are back, didn't that make it right? If we give the farmers 12 billion they don't need, it "hurt" farmers in the short run but hurt everyone else in the long run.

Yes, we knew this was coming.  Just like the Soviet Union in the old days subsidizing bad economic policies.

This is a bandaid on a massive chest wound.  Farmers need to place seed orders now and most of them borrow from banks.  Since Trump has screwed up the soybean market, how many will plant soybeans?  This drives up the price of seed corn.  But with more corn next year, the corn price will fall.

Unfortunately, the AG sector hates the Dems because they support government assistance.  They never look into the mirror.

Markets have since rallied and allows farmers that were able to store their crop to sell them at a better price. This relief helps make up for the few months where farmers marketed grain at a lower price that it would have been otherwise. Helps the ones that had to sell some percentage of it across the scale because they had nowhere to keep all of it and needed cash flow.

No one said it was all going to work perfectly. The US has collected about 250 billion dollars from tariffs on Chinese goods, we spent 12 billion to help out the farmers who took a bit of a hit. Seems reasonable.

then why reward chicken shit farmers. Let em drown. They should have planned for the short term pain of the tariffs, for the greater good of the long term pain of the country.

“You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need one or two. They don’t need that many. You always need steel. You don’t need 37 dolls for your daughter. Two or three is nice. So we’re doing things right.”

Well…it's apparent that the Pencil and Doll Manufacturers of America have not been paying into the Trump Slush Presidential Library Fund.

Dunno about your kid, but my kid goes through a pencil a week, and loses 2 more.
Of course, Trump doesn't know that a lot of work these days requires computers, and those ain't cheap and unless we can maintain lower costs on them, a lot of kids just won't have that access. But they are poor so who cares amirite?

Just imagine the uproar here if Biden had said anything remotely similar to that.....

Modulo our resident troll, and our resident cultist - people know. There may not be an uproar on FOX, but people are pissed and we may be nearing the end game. If the ACA subsidy situation isn't resolved, there will be full on revolt. At that point the shutdown becomes very clear, the Democrats were using the only weapon they had to get the GOP to extend them, at some point they just had to let the GOP hang themselves.

Even if they get extended, eventually the Democrats can just say "why was this even a debate? The GOP didn't save the subsidies, they just agreed at the last minute to do something they didn't want to do"
