I just await Mn and Custard telling us why it was a *good* thing that Pete Hegseth was looping his wife and lawyer in on the Yemen strikes, using a non Governmental phone.

Let's have a wager bud. 1 month from now, tops, Hegseth is out.

This case was filed on April 16. There's no law of the case from March unless you have a time machine.
They're 2 separate cases in front of Judge Boasberg over the same issues. The March case regards Venezuelan Tren de Aragua who had been flown out of the country.
The April case involves Venezuelan Tren de Aragua who have since been rounded up and sent to northern Texas for removal out of the country. The govt position here is that members in this group who petitioned for habeas at their site of detainment won't be getting on any planes, as directed, before a hearing.

Alito's dissent, uh hey guys we oughtta try to be a little consistent here.

There's a NYT story in today's fishwrap with Maggie Haberman as one of the writers. That's all that I need for now.

G7 is an economic summit, which includes a lot of publicly open seminars, broadcast on Television and streamed on YouTube. Jill Biden was preparing in this photo for a talk which she presented to the public.

Which is roughly the equivalent to Hegseth texting his wife ZOMG WE ARE GONNA BOMB THE SHIT OUT OF THE HOUTHIS! FIRE ME UP SOME JACK DANIELS BABY!

We have now passed from mere incompetence into the realm of willful negligence.

There is a reason alleged Aragua Train members were sent to Bluebonnet Detention Center. They were also notified of their rights to due process via documents they couldn't read and given given insufficient time to present a defense.

The notification form may be in English because that's the language we speak here. From what I've read the agent reads the notice in the hopefully soon to be deported's language and must attest to it on the form.
The defense may be telling you the truth about the language of the form but not the whole truth. The defense in the KAG case presented a motion regarding his alleged MS13 membership but also omitted other details on the Gang Field Interview Sheet.
And the insufficient time issue is the position of the defense, not necessarily of the govt or of the court. Maybe that should have been argued in a lower court.

“It’s just fake news. They just bring up stories. It sounds like disgruntled employees,” added the president. “He was put there to get rid of a lot of bad people, and that’s what he’s doing. You don’t always have friends when you do that.”

The high profile people who have left the DoD are Hegseth's people. I guess if you hire bad people, it allows the opportunity to get rid of bad people

Nothing here is inconsistent. Scotus flat-out doesn't trust the admin and felt a TRO was necessary based on the evidence before them. Alito disputes it was emergency warranting extraordinary relief because Alito is disingenuous and rather dumb for a judge

Boasberg isn't involved with AARP v Trump.

If anyone comes up with sources that are better than “anonymous contacts not authorized to comment” I’ll be inclined to agree with you.

His direct report who was on the message chain confirmed it.

What’s the logic behind the idea the SCOTUS doesn’t trust the admin? I guess it might appear that way outwardly with a ruling or two, but I certainly don’t think they’re anti-Trump as a unit.

Seems to me it’s more of the good-cop/bad-cop flooding the zone thing. Have you noticed yet that there is a new *thing* at least once a week that has the anti-Trump faction of this country tilting at different windmills? It’s been so effective that barely anyone is talking about Ukraine and Putin. People are so mad about the Maryland Man that they aren’t even bitching about their 401K.

Always appreciate your insight.

No. We're pretty pissed about the stock market.

Always appreciate your lack of insight.
