Says the guy who came from little and has a lot. You’re basically a walking billboard for what you’re saying doesn’t exist.
Also, Custard is a UIUC graduate and has done pretty well for himself. Don’t have dozens/hundreds of millions from winning the employer lottery, but have been successful by most any measure of human success.
My sisters sometimes get into that "came from little" schtick. I didn't inherit millions, but my Dad also went to UIUC and was a rocket scientst
(
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Impact_(spacecraft) ) , all three of us went to out of state schools and graduated with no debt. I worked at IUB, the Subway above O'Malley's, in a computer lab at Everett, but that wasn't to scrape through school that was for beer money.
So like you are successful by most any measure of human success, so were my parents, and I did not come from little by any measure of human standards, and that's true of most of us who win the human lottery to end up at UIUC.
All that said, at the end of the story, all of us probably worked a lot harder than that fucker Trump. We've probably all overperformed the S&P 500, and that dude underperformed it massively. Yet he has billions and we don't. Wealth creates wealth a lot easier than hard work. The first million is always the hardest one.
