The wife was bitching when we were at Brother's this weekend how tough it was to get a drink. Well, they were busy, had 3 bartenders (none upstairs, although there were people up there) and the one by us had to focus on the wait staff. And I reminded her that "service" in the US is now equal to the "service" we had seen for years in a certain East Coast tourist trap we go to where they basically have college kids from the US and Eastern Europe for the summer working at restaurants/bars that had no clue and just don't give a shit.
There is just not enough people for the service industry, and some of the other, crap jobs we have open.
Yeah, since Covid, I've resigned myself to the fate that getting good service at any restaurant is a hit or miss proposition.
I do find myself tipping better than I used to for good service tho. So there's that.
