But you don’t know what research has been done, you’re just parroting the media narrative that Trump is pulling policy out of his ass because it confirms your bias.

The chaos is a feature, not a bug. It’s very obviously a key part of the strategy. When you’re negotiating, you want the people on the other side of the table to be on their heels. They need us more than we need them, Trump knows it, they know it.

A lot of the guff you guys have is over what essentially has been bluffing, bluffing becomes useless when it becomes obvious, so there have to be some things that stick for the bluffing to have value in the future.

I think it’s self-evident that he loves this country, and believes that bending others (trade partners, adversaries, government) to his will (reworked trade deals, American jobs, peace, reduced government waste, reduced regulations etc) is the path to prosperity. I tend to agree.

There are more ways to skin a political cat. I know that a lot of people on the left think the only way this can happen is kid gloves diplomacy, Obama sitting with his legs crossed and fingers laced, talking in measured tones. Or Biden hiding for years and occasionally emerging to kiss everyone’s asses. But that’s exactly how we’ve come to get in the situation we are in now, which requires strong and decisive action, not more pussyfooting around. I get that it’s jarring, it was for me, that’s why I didn’t vote for him the first two times around. But there’s a method to the madness.

Strong and decisive action like holding staff accountable for national security fuck ups?  I'll bet you're thrilled with the "best healthcare program you've ever seen" as well.  One could surmise that buying this agenda is just another form of TDS.

No one knows what’s going on behind the scenes as it pertains to the fuck ups. I would bet anything that the media you consume wouldn’t report on it even if they did care to gather insight. Just keep running the smear campaign because that’s what gets clicks.

I couldn’t care less about the healthcare program at the moment and I’m sure it’s down their priority list as well. ACA destroyed affordable individual insurance for self employed people who make any kind of money at all, and I was in that boat until a few years ago, but now I have premium employer insurance and pay almost nothing for it out of my own pocket. What do you want him to do? Pivot towards universal health care? Good luck with that. Don’t give me the “poor people don’t have access to healthcare” line either because that’s patently false. The Affordable Care Act really fucked the middle class who don’t have employer sponsored insurance.

It's not as tho U.S. service members were killed in Kabul. It's not as tho civilians were droned in Kabul. It's not as tho hundreds or more of Tren de Aragua were allowed into the country. It's not as tho the Secretary of Defense went missing for days. It's not as tho a high ranking general told his Chinese Commie counterpart that he would let him know if the President, the man he worked for, was up to anything.

The mission was apparently a success and eliminated an Al-Qaeda leader.

Of course these guys don’t even know that stuff happened because there was a media blackout on Biden era fuckups.

Who signed the deal to leave Kabul? The same idiot who signed the current trade deals with Canada and Mexico. The same guy who has been sucking Putin's cock since 2015 and is now making the world a far more dangerous place.

He is also outspending Biden despite cutting all the waste.

Signing the deal wasn’t the problem, the way it was “executed” was. The Putin thing is absolutely hilarious because the only president Putin hasn’t invaded under recently is Trump, and because Trump wants to have a diplomatic relationship with Russia and people have been bombarded by Trump/Russia alliance propaganda for 10 years they believe he’s sucking Putin’s cock despite all the actual evidence to the contrary. Not sure we don’t have a clear picture of what spending trends look like in 2 months of the term.

Read the reports about what the Kremlin is saying on Russian TV....they are saying Trump is doing great work for them. Just like they knew he would.

You probably lose a lot of bets....  Let's see, last time he was in the oval, the big items were healthcare and the "big beautiful wall".  Neither of these were accomplished, although Bannon made lots of coin on the wall fraud and got himself a pardon. That's just the kind of track record that inspires confidence being able to pull off his next, dare one say erratic or would you prefer dynamic, agenda.  By all means, give this guy the keys.  Since the security fuck ups were so public, the accountability needs to be as well.  Our Mideast ally probably lost an asset in Yemen.

A border wall wasn’t even that popular with Republicans in Congress. The Democrats also did everything they could to mock and stop any wall from getting built and now you’re laying that at Trump’s feet? You’d have been furious if it did get built. The whole thing was bluster. Congress did pass a similar amount that was requested for the wall to enhance border security in other ways. Which of course all went out the window as soon as Biden came in.

Trump diverted money from other defense appropriations and started building his wall. The rest of the story is available to those who want to be informed.

Trump originally said Mexico would pay for the wall.

Trump said he had a great healthcare plan. At one point, he said preexisting conditions were caused by lifestyle choices, so people with them should pay more. Later, he said he had the concept of the plan

We have Medicare because most elderly people are uninsurable in a free market.

We got the ACA because the free market would not cover preexisting conditions at standard rates unless there was a mandate requiring young and healthy people to buy in. Talking that out watered it down.

OTOH, the roll out of the tax penalties and refundable credits was so poorly conceived it almost toppled the ACA before it took root.

Republicans also did others things to sabotage the ACA, but it has survived in spite of that.

To say the old non-group free market was better before the ACA is bs. Many people in that sector were uninsured, some by choice, some due to preexisting conditions.

The coverage people could afford to get often sucked, like exclusion for pregnancy or complications of pregnancy.

It fucked me, a 20 something in perfect health taking care of myself. My insurance company actually dropped medical insurance after that debacle. But I guess that’s ok if some other people who didn’t take care of themselves got affordable coverage.

Some people had the audacity to get older and get sick or injured. In a free market, insurance companies kept rates low for the young and healthy by excluding or rating up the old, sick, or injured.

They also used a trick called pool closing. As a pool of insureds aged, they would close it. Then the healthy people would be moved to a new policy. That would allow them to raise the premiums for the old policy, getting around the "you can't be singled out for a rate increase" clause.

The rates would eventually get too high so people would start dropping out, leaving them uninsured, uninsurable, and generally ineligible for Medicaid.

I favor nationalized health insurance with mostly private free market healthcare. I do think there needs to be some government healthcare to fill gaps such as underserved areas.

Maybe they could have done it in a way that didn’t double or triple the price for young healthy people.
