Not sure why he wouldn’t come back, honestly. Unless he just really doesn’t like school. He’s no lock to even get drafted. NIL money could be somewhat lucrative, and he gets another year to work on his game and improve his stock (and maybe a Final Four).
No way to know what’s in a kids heart, though.
Kofi is pretty much what he is I think. Very very good physically dominant at college level strictly back to basket low post player.
Not a natural shot blocker or quick jumper. Has no face up game or driving ability.
Cannot guard in space, switch to guard wings or lead guards, and we got eaten alive with pullups in his drop coverage all year.
Not really a rim runner.
None of that translates to next level.
Is undrafted or late second round at best in most all mock drafts.
In this aggregate ranking he is not even in Top 96 players. He is old by NBA development standards.
https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-mock-draft-espn-the-athletic-sports-illustrated-bleacher-report/He is in tough spot. He is 23 years old this year.
Wish him all the best. He has given 110% for three years.
Hope he makes some serious money overseas.
I think this might be like last year where he assesses options and makes a decision later again. I wish he would make the call early.
The problem for us is we will not land any other impact post guys if it drags out. I noticed several of the bigs we were working on last year landed other places, and they certainly are looking for NCAA bound loaded teams which we are not projected to be.
