I’d like to see more of

Trent

Plummer

Grandison/RJ/Goode

Hawkins

Kofi

on the floor at the same time.

Keep Curbelo and Williams minutes around 20.
Yep. Those options at the 3 create size mismatches on offense that DW does not. As-is we let the other team play whoever the hell they want at 3G/SF without regard for defense, or that the 3 can sag and hassle Kofi as happened some yesterday because they know our 3 isn't doing anything except hitting one 3 per game.

Imagine bitching about winning a tourney game.

Bc if the guy’s shot had fallen at the buzzer and Chattanooga won 55-54, it’d be without a doubt labeled the worst game Illinois has ever played on the NCAA tourney.

The fact he missed doesn’t take that away.  Illinois lead for 20 seconds against a far inferior team who also was playing poorly themselves.  They shot 32%.  So in total, the worst game Illinois has ever played on the tourney.

Frazier is 1-16 shooting in his last 2 NCAA games.

Then you got the low expectations crowd of “at least we made the tourney”.  Well enjoy this then I guess bc it’ll be years+ before Illinois makes another one after Kofi is gone

I did listen to Werner/Piper after the game.

Piper hates Plummer 😂.  Given that Plummer is the only guy on the team that can hit any shots, he must have something personal with him.

They shot 32% because we played really good defense. Which is exactly what you have to do when shots aren’t dropping.

Agree. I think Curbelo is just out of control. He was like that at times last year but shot better and had more assists so it was a net plus.
This year it is not and kills our ball and player movement.

A friend of mine heard from insiders that he had team disciplinary issues in addition to the COVID thing after he returned.

My guess is he moves on after this year. Not a good fit on this team, or the Big Ten slugfests.
Disciplinary issues with Curbelo would not surprise me at all with facial expressions, the way he acts sometimes when bring the ball into the front court, just "too cool" BS.
