Haha thanks guys I guess. I only did two brackets. Had Zona in the other one. I didn’t see a lot of KU this year but just liked the way the bracket lined up for them. Until the last two years I hadn’t won one since the Tyus Edney UCLA team when I was in middle school.

The Frozen Four pits Sven's team vs Denver at 4pm Thur on ESPN2.
The gofs vs the Minnesota State Mavericks gets relegated to ESPNU at 7:30 so ESPN2 can televise the Reds at the Braves.

Are you kidding ? The Twins home opener is tomorrow and everybody is still gaga over the Women's Final Four.
I'm sure tomorrow's fishwrap will have plenty of coverage tho.

The boys can score some goals. The top 4 offenses made it to Wooster.
#1 Denver vs #4 Sven's team and the #2 Mavs vs the #3 gofs.
The Mavs goal tender holds the NCAA career record in shutouts at 34.
The gofs coach says the Mavs are "a big, strong team", commonly referred to as grown ass men, but that's also the type of team they played getting to the FF.
The Mavs coach is on a streak, just like Custard, with back to back COY. But the gofs coach would be the sentimental favorite after losing his son in a car accident last summer.

They are probably grown ass men because they are all 23 years old.

Thanks for the run down, Mn. Games start at 4 CDT. Hope it is a good Frozen 4.

Kofi will be 23 this fall.

The issue is the other teams grown ass men are simply longer, quicker, and faster than ours.
We need more athletes.

Here's hoping for a Pio/Mav final.
The article is paywalled for us flatlanders.

Take the NCAA Hockey talk to the No One Cares Board!
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Here you go Mn:

Quote
BOSTON — The size of a dog doesn’t matter in a hockey fight.

So don’t tell the scrappy, little University of Denver, forced to balance its athletic budget with roughly 25% of the financial resources as the high and mighty University of Michigan, that an ankle-biter from a liberal arts school can’t take down a big dog from a Power Five conference in the pursuit of a national championship.

Asked for a prediction of a final score in a high-stakes hockey contest between the Pioneers and the Wolverines, DU coach David Carle chuckled, but did not hesitate to offer his opinion.

“We’re going to go for 9-8,” cracked Carle, anticipating a free-wheeling, high-scoring shootout Thursday against Michigan, with the winner advancing to play for the national championship.

As the financial divide between the haves and have-nots in big-time college sports grows into a yawning chasm that can make open competition seem more like a caste system, the Frozen Four is one of few remaining places in the NCAA landscape where we have a chance to tell a Pioneers bite Wolverines story.

Michigan coach Mel Pearson said scouting the Pioneers is “like looking in the mirror … They can score, they can get up and down the rink.”

That’s right about where the similarities stop. The Wolverines are a beast from the Big Ten with a student body of more than 50,000 strong and ridiculous annual athletic expenditures of $180 million. The Pioneers have an enrollment of 12,000 with a sports budget believed to be in the neighborhood of $40 million, and are proudly everything Michigan is not.

“We are very different. Absolutely. That’s college hockey,” Carle said. “College hockey is a really great landscape of diverse schools. And I think that’s great for the student-athletes.”

Unlike other institutions of higher education in our fine state, DU doesn’t need to get its brains beat out in football to feel important in college sports. I don’t know if the Pioneers are smarter than Colorado or Colorado State because they climb into a hockey arena where they can beat anyone in the country. But I’m certain of this: DU hockey is everything that Gonzaga basketball hopes to be when it grows up.

The enduring, romantic appeal of the NCAA basketball tourney is the occasional Cinderella story that brings madness to the big dance. This year, the underdog we fell in love with was St. Peter’s, a commuter school in New Jersey with an academic endowment that falls short of the $86 million contract of Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari.

But here’s the dirty, little truth: In hoops, Cinderella almost always gets unceremoniously sent home from the dance before midnight, leaving the championship to be decided by teams with the rich, blueblood heritage of North Carolina or Kansas.

On the other hand, Carle said, “It doesn’t matter what kind of school you are, you can have success in college hockey.”

The real beauty of the Frozen Four? The size of your school doesn’t matter.  A passion for hockey counts far more than the financial wherewithal of a university. Building a championship hockey program isn’t cheap, but you don’t have to burn Benjamins in a bonfire, hoping and praying to stay within four touchdowns of Alabama, as is the case in college football.

That’s why the Minnesota State Mavericks, with a school-wide sports budget of approximately $14 million, has a fighting chance against Minnesota from the Big Ten in the nightcap of the semifinals at TD Garden.

“It’s awesome for the sport,” said Pearson, who went to the Frozen Four during his playing days with Michigan Tech, which he fondly describes as a “small school up in the boonies.”

Way back when, Denver and Michigan were neighbors in the same conference before the Pioneers and Wolverines went separate ways. So this will be the 84th time the puck has been dropped between them, but it’s also the first time these two college hockey powers have met since 2002.

That’s a long time. What gives?

It has been suggested to me that the big dog from the Big Ten might not want anything to do with an ankle-biter, as the Power Five school has politely told the Pioneers no thanks when asked for dates during the regular season.

“We’re two great programs. I think what it boils down to is the schedules that we have, both (are) playing real tough schedules all the time,” Pearson said.

“I’d love to play them. Without saying anything negative against anybody else, I really love the style (the Pioneers) play the game … They like to play with skill, they like to get up and down the ice. We’re in the entertainment business.”

There was a kernel of numerical significance in Carle’s prediction of a 9-8 score against Michigan in the semifinals. The two hockey programs with the most national championships in NCAA history?

That score is: Michigan 9, DU 8.

Time for the Pioneers to get even?

In college hockey, all that matters is the size of the fight in the dog.
