Yesterday I saw an establishment (Maine) Dem trying to tell everyone how it was going to be. IMO She/they don’t have the leverage. It’s this type of attitude Mainers voted against.

It’s an absolutely calamity no matter how you slice it. Not sure what’s worse, the complete lack of direction the party has right now or the mostly awful candidates that somehow keep rising to the top.

When push comes to shove I prefer the current policy of right versus left (after all, the 90s Democrats are all Republicans now) but also recognize that it isn’t good to give the GOP all the power indefinitely. Which is exactly what it seems the Dems are hellbent on doing.

Meh - what other swing seats are in play due to an awful candidate?

Meanwhile, in Texas Talarico is fairly moderate, and the Republicans voted out a well respected senior Senator who wins by 10 points and nominated a guy who got impeached by his own party and is getting divorced on "biblical grounds". No - "Democratic Socialists" in D+30 seats don't count as a mostly awful candidate. You might not like how they posture or whatever, but if they win and vote for Jeffries or (presumably) Schumer, they did the job.

He actually wasn't that bad the first 6 or 8 years he served in the U.S. Senate...when John McCain was still alive.

Agreed. Although I would not have voted for him, I thought he was one of the most principled men in Congress 20 years ago. I had quite a bit of respect for him. Then he got MAGAd.
