Kimmel had already alienated half the country and for local affiliates with struggling viewership his disinformation, and then no apology, was the turning point. Nexstar suspended Kimmel because of advertising dollars. It was a business decision.

Nexstar didn't do it - ABC did. Even when the fact isn't super meaningful, but obvious, you get it wrong.

But being a MAGAt, you'll say some shit like "Nexstar effectively suspended Kimmel by saying they would pull him from their stations, which forced ABC's hand" (which is bullshit, ABC isn't a pawn of Nexstar). But then we get to the real point here, it had nothing to do with advertising dollars - it was just to get Trump to greenlight their merger proposal, which goes beyond current rules, and which will get them a lot more dollars, and control, than anything to do with Jimmy Kimmel.

If it was just advertising dollars, they would have canned him a long time ago, or required a decrease in compensation. Whatever replaces Kimmel will get substantially lower viewership, presumably it will be reruns.

Ward Reilly - Vietnam Veteran, advocate for peace, man of courage, Chicago native. I was Facebook friends with Ward. First time I encountered him I made fun of him because he’d mentioned that he “went to the White House to arrest the president.” I thought he was a loon. I quickly realized he was not a loon, but a very good man. He was pretty well known among veterans for peace. Rest easy, Ward. You did your part.

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

When Ward went to arrest the President (Dubya).

Why did the guy who was released shoot up an ABC building if he thought Kimmel's time out was because of Trump.
Sinclair, waiting on an apology, says they will preempt Kimmel's show.

It was a business decision.

To be fair, the FCC and the President were not demanding cancellation of those individuals or shows.....Kind of a big difference.

So since Trump canceled him, he must have made the call to get him reinstated then, right?

The Biden administration closely monitored social media and sent out guidelines and instructions on how sensitive things should be handled/censored.

Correct. Trump demanded ABC that they end Kimmel's 3 day suspension for peddling misinformation and not retracting it.
