I hope they overturn it. It’ll be the final nail the GOP coffin.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Posted it in this forum by accident. Custard, if you could move it to the deuce that would be appreciated.

Wonder how many “final nails” have been delivered in the last few years?  Can’t imagine anyone of sound mind thinking there will be consequences at this point.

You don’t think 50 years’ of women’s autonomy taken away will awaken a slumbering giant?

Let’s just say I think this is a classic case of the barking dog that catches up with the car tire.

If actively trying to overthrow Democracy didn't, then no not particularly.

Fair. But I think the GOP is dying/splintering. Just not as quickly as I hoped or anticipated. I think this would zap any momentum they have at the least.

I’d have a tough time seeing a right-wing Republican winning the presidency one election cycle after overturning RvW.

Does 'splintering' really matter if both sides of the 'splinter' are still willing to vote Republican?

They won the presidency one month after they stole the SCOTUS seat that everyone knew was aimed at overturning it.

Overturning RvW is a positive for many, many conservative voters.  Half or more, I'd guess.  And a non-issue to a large percentage of the other half.

The big unknown here is just how much the electorate actually cares about abortion rights.  I will chance that the electorate might care if their legislature is going to fully outlaw the procedure or ban it after some extremely short period like six weeks.  No exceptions for incest or rape might make people care as well, as Republicans found out about a decade ago.

So let me get this straight.  Tempo—bleeding heart liberal—wants to take away 50 years of women’s autonomy because he thinks it’ll end the Republican Party. Am I understanding this correctly?

My problem isn’t with abortion per say. My beliefs are against it, yes, but I’m just against using taxpayer funds to do it. If the people wanna get an abortion, let them get an abortion and pay for it out of pocket or suffer the consequences. Once they see how much it costs and/or how risky it is, then they might be a little more cautious. Why should I be responsible for someone else’s bad decisions?! I agree there are extreme circumstances like incest or rape that should be handled on a case by case basis preferably in the courts if needed. The government has their hands regulating too many things, and once they touch something, it usually turns to shit.

Now I don’t think that’s too extreme or unreasonable.

You apparently are unfamiliar with the Electoral College and addition.
