Definitely seems like something relatively serious.  His concussion was more than a month ago.  I really, really hope playing him too early didn't make things worse.

Cupping is pretty common muscle therapy.  You see it in the Olympics a lot.

Pretty common after a concussion.  Many of the same fans who anointed him the second coming this summer immediately turning on him and pining for the day he leaves the program probably isn’t helping if depression’s an issue.

I have close friend who was second in national collegiate Tri a couple years ago. Elite athlete and great person. Works for VA in DC.
Got hit on her bike and had major concussion a couple months ago. Still recovering emotionally and physically.

Hope he takes the time he needs.
