That play where the ball was fumbled in the end zone reminded me of the Illini USC game. Was right in front of me. McKnight went the distance on the next, botched, play.

Was it the Jeff Cumberland fumble, then McKnight on the bounce pass ? We were looking good til then. Fell apart after that.

Still gave my plastic souvenir beer cup from the game. Took the PassiveSon, who was 7 at the time, and met some buddies who had flown out for the game.

I think I have things disremembered. Cumberland fumbled late in the 2nd quarter heading for the end zone where we had seats. A td and we were back in the game with some momentum.
The Willis fumble was before the bounce pass then.
