Read an interesting theory. Trump has no intention of winning next year. He didn't really want to win in 2016. The plan is and was to say he lost because the election was rigged. Then run a stop the steal campaign to extort money from gullible supporters.

I gather he didn't count on the criminal charges and civil lawsuit.

At this point, Trump has not been charged with attempted insurrection.

I was always convinced Trump wasn’t running to win. He was running to improve his brand and raise money.
