I think I may have once once said All in the Family was one the best sit coms ever. In a couple episodes, Archie used the word fag as pejorative toward gay men.

I don't think that was necessarily the height of comedy, but it was funny in context at the time.

When I was a kid,  the right wing was censoring Lenny Bruce. More recently, the left has tried to impose rules, like always punching up instead of down.
