EVALUATED 03/08/2019
Jerry Meyer
Jerry Meyer
DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL SCOUTING
PROJECTION
Second Round
COMPARISON
Marcus Derrickson
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
Has a wide, space controlling-frame at 6-9. Conditioning has been an issue in the past. Has nimble feet and a highly skilled game. Good athlete but not overly explosive. Proficient back-to-the-basket scorer who can also face up and shoot or drive from outside. Very comfortable with the basketball and has a feel for passing. Strong rebounder. Defending on perimeter can be a challenge. Good positional interior defender who can also block shots. Should develop into an NBA draft pick.

Sounds like a project with pretty high ceiling if he develops -  glad to have him.

Can't think of 1 player that didn't play at all at another high D1 team, and then came to Illinois and was a contributor.

This dude from Baylor hasn't played at all there.  Clearly Brad is simply fishing, which is fine since every year will be a new team since nobody has to sit out again.  Still, its better than letting a scholarship sit open.  He can't be worse than Payne

Dunno. Had over 20 P5 offers. Watch that video. A lot to build on there.

I read Dainja was out his freshman season with an Injury. He doesnt have many minutes this year, but maybe he's still coming back from the injury. I didnt look into it, but it's not like he would be suiting up next week.

Looks like that open scholarship was used, this kid has some real talent, has had injuries, so we will see, alot worse could have happened. You are correct no other transfer from high D1 has came in and really contributed, so lets hope DD is the first.

Hmmm. What donor is funding the ride at LaLu is the question. $50K a year.

who cares, as long as we're getting the top kids in Indiana

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I meant is it someone connected to Illinois. You know how the system works. People are not donating to the endowment or scholarship fund for the greater good of developing  upstanding young men and women.
