Baylor just dominated the tourney field starting a 6’5” guy at the 4 and 6’9” guy at the 5. Neither one can shoot and they averaged less than 10 ppg combined. They averaged about the same number of rebounds combined as Kofi averaged alone. The point is you don’t need a a dominant big just guys that can defend and rebound combined with really good guards and wings.

Thamba and Everyday Day John were combined as good a post defense as you would find in the country. And their little 6'5" forward Vital was a total beast big body uber athlete.
Oh,  and their three guards were arguably the best trio in the country defensively and combined for 47 ppg.

Making any parallel to us bringing in a couple backups to combine with Curbelo and whoever we patch together is some funny shit.

Even if Miller comes back,  we have a center and 4 and maybe a 3 by throwing spaghetti at the wall and are a bubble team and a work in progress all year at best.

That’s not at all what I’m doing.

He doesn’t really need to show a big expansion of his game to improve his draft stock. He just needs to show he can shoot.

He already has enough issues that can’t really be coached out (lack of lateral quickness and overall length) that will really hurt his draft stock. He’s an old school big man in a new school NBA. At least if he could shoot, teams would be more willing to take a chance on him.

I tend to agree, but I doubt we want to be his training ground for taking 5 jumpers a game to see if he can develop a face up game.
The 5 assists total for the year is almost hard to believe.

The stuff he did well, he did very well.
The stuff he can't do well he is really bad at and needs a full time job as a pro to develop. The guy is 22 years old this year.  His clock is ticking. He gone IMO.

I agree with your theoretical roster models for modern game, but those guys were fucking good to begin with.

We have to get some pieces in here to do what you want.

Here’s a wild factoid: Mark Vital committed to Baylor in 2013.

Adam Miller and Underoonie meeting today. My expectation is that Miller returns. With Frazier and Franklin closing the door, they aren’t in a great spot to get too picky. Underwood was pretty pissed off though from what I heard

About?
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Have checked out what their guards averaged in points?  And their pretty much all over 40 % from the 3 point line.  Even 2 or 3 bench guys averaged pretty close or barely over 40 % from the 3 ball line.  And they could all defend as well.  That's a lot of pretty good players you need.  I agree though the center position is a spot you can live without if the other pieces are strong elsewhere.

I’d rather have Kofi trying to develop a face up game than whoever we would have to replace him.

He would probably develop better as a pro, but he shouldn’t leave unless he’s sure someone is going to draft him.

Would love to have him.  Makes us an instant Top 20 team.

This stuff is not as cut and dried as it used to be.  They can sign you and assign you to G league now I think.  That is his best option for developing short of being on an NBA roster. He needs to play and practice against grown men.
Of course he could make more if he went overseas, but that is another path.

As much as Kofi has improved, he hasn't shown a whole lot of touch in his shot. I hate to be critical as much as its been said that he's a hard worker and willing to learn, but sometimes he seems to struggle with a shot much farther away than a dunk.

His stroke seemed better last year at the FT line.
It was really inconsistent this year in terms of form, release, arc.
He just needs a lot of focused work.
