Obviously the staff would prefer to know sooner than later as the possibility of him returning hinders their ability to replace him with an immediate difference maker for next season. Which I’m sure they’ve talked to him about.

Agree with LK that he probably isn’t going to all of a sudden improve his draft stock next year playing in college but he would be in line to achieve some pretty serious individual accolades next year playing on another potentially highly competitive team.

The worst that could happen is he drags it out and we have to take some scrubs because the good guys are afraid they’ll sit behind him. Then he decides to leave, effectively fucking next year’s team.

I’d have imagine the staff has had this conversation with him and that whatever he decides will be relatively swift and definitive.

It's a tough balance. Support a young man in this process who has given his all and achieved well earned recognition, but we also need to consider the program overall.
I think we will not get a guy like Robbins or Mitchell, or Bishop unless he says he is gone for sure.

This is a tough situation and I think most think he goes if he gets any indication he will grab a roster spot from a GM.

Adam Miller and Underoonie meeting today. My expectation is that Miller returns. With Frazier and Franklin closing the door, they aren’t in a great spot to get too picky. Underwood was pretty pissed off though from what I heard

I did see he can hit the three which is nice. Not much of a rebounder. I guess he would be depth and some size at the 4??

....or a starting 4, with Payne starting at 5 if Kofi leaves.

I bet this guy is better overall than Payne is assuming you get effort out of him

Well, from an early video of Payne- he can't shoot worth a damn, but from a couple other vids he moves pretty well.
Payne looks to be suited to be a backup to me, or just a guy if he starts.

If this Ntambwe guy is our starting 4, that means we really are counting on Curbelo, Hutcherson, and Miller (assuming he ends up back in the fold) to score a shit ton.
I guess one of Grandison, Hawkins, Goode, Melendez, or Podz might surprise.

Its going to be By Committee at the 4 and 5 possibly. And that is assuming Hutcherson is as good as advertised and is usable starter at a wing.

Baylor just dominated the tourney field starting a 6’5” guy at the 4 and 6’9” guy at the 5. Neither one can shoot and they averaged less than 10 ppg combined. They averaged about the same number of rebounds combined as Kofi averaged alone. The point is you don’t need a a dominant big just guys that can defend and rebound combined with really good guards and wings.

Robbins is in demand. No ego kid. Will want to be the starting center for sure, however.

Kofi will need to get a lot of feedback from NBA guys and that is still no sure thing they even know what might happen.
I have seen his name from late first round to undrafted. I don't think his draft status changes by staying another year in college unless he shows a big expansion of his game which is hard to do at this level.
He needs to work on his game FT for a living and he is not afraid of the work.
He doesn’t really need to show a big expansion of his game to improve his draft stock. He just needs to show he can shoot.

He already has enough issues that can’t really be coached out (lack of lateral quickness and overall length) that will really hurt his draft stock. He’s an old school big man in a new school NBA. At least if he could shoot, teams would be more willing to take a chance on him.
