If Humrichous is our starting 5 it tells me both Morez and Ivisic are relative busts and that would be bad for a number of reasons. I could see Humrichous starting at the 4 if Rodgers jumps at being 6th man, but if Morez is on the bench watching a transfer from a lower half Valley team chuck 3s from his position I'm not sure why any coach would help their 5-star Mr. Basketball type guys play for Brad again.

Leadership, experience, position less, I think if Humrichous is a starter, then the 5 (non position less) would be what you would call it in simple terms, not necessarily that he is a "5" by skillset. That said, I am not sure where/when/what he plays is any indictment on Morez/Ivisic being a bust or not. One is a freshman (very very talented inexperienced one) and the other is a unknown except for European play, how either translates has nothing to do with Humrichous imo.

This is a very talented 9 man rotation.  (Doubtful DGL plays much.)

Hopefully the majority of this group is around for 2 years.  They could be top 5 in 2025-2026.

Humrichous averaged <5 rpg and played with a guy who's 6-10 and averaged 6+. If you trot him out at the 5 in the B1G without a bigger guy in the post, you will get mollywhopped.

For comparison, Marcus Domask had more rebounds per game in the same conference as a 4th year player.

Morez or ivisic will be the 5. Whoever wins that position battle.

Humrichous is not projected to be a 5 unless something goes wrong.

Riley's addition moves them to 44th on barttorvick..

Can see a starting 5 of Big T, Rodgers, Riley, White & Boswell, with Johnson, Booth, Hum and KJ in the rotation.

Also saw KJ projected 59th best freshman on this site.

Sounds like Fears wants to reclassify to 2024. If he did that, he wouldn't play at all at Illinois. He does not really look physically ready.

Meh. The kid probably saw the writing on the wall with the talent we were bringing in and he and his family decided it was in his best interest to pursue a better opportunity elsewhere. Buzz right now is that spot is likely going to be Providence.

If this were the Groce/Weber years, a kid the caliber of Fears decommitting would be a death sentence for the program(neither would have secured a commitment from him to begin with but that’s besides the point). Thankfully Underwood and staff have shown the ability to recover and go on to next one.
