"The Justice Department announced the end of its "China Initiative" on Wednesday.

Established by the Trump administration, the initiative expanded and better coordinated FBI-led efforts to detect, disrupt, and prosecute Chinese espionage campaigns on U.S. soil. A key focus fell on espionage efforts targeting U.S. college campuses. Toward that end, the Justice Department successfully prosecuted a number of academics who failed to register grants from China.
As FBI Director Christopher Wray observed just this January, China's espionage campaign has "reached a new level — more brazen, more damaging than ever before. And it’s vital — vital — that all of us focus on that threat together."

Oh, and Trump was a xenophobe so the program needed to end.

"And it’s vital — vital — that all of us focus on that threat together." Does that mean they have brought the program "in house" and are doing more than indicting academics who don't register grants from China (like the spies that were just indicted)?

Her and Nick Adams are the dumbest fucking people on Twitter. Literally all they do is right-wing trolling all day.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I am pretty sure we don't all agree on that. The fact that people are able to jump through unnecessary hoops doesn't justify making them do so.

lol. People are so hindered they are voting in record numbers.
Georgia has more early voting days than Delaware.
Re a couple of early voters in Delaware, not referring to POTUS and his granddaughter tho, .....
"They took advantage of Delaware’s first election with early in-person voting, courtesy of a law that passed in 2019 and took effect this year. Delaware is one of the last states to let people vote in person before Election Day."

If Georgia voters are motivated enough to overcome Republican suppression tactics; then that is a good thing.

It does not mean the suppression tactics are a good thing.

In a close race, stopping a few thousand from voting can be pivotal.

They should close your polling place, challenge your registration, and so on

"The voter challenges in Gwinnett, and across Georgia (there have been 64,000 according to one voting rights group) are one example of how groups are undermining confidence in US elections after the 2020 vote. These conservative groups seed a public perception that there is something amiss with the voter rolls, and suck away resources, increasing the possibility of mistakes and chaos, which Republicans could wield to question the results of elections. Groups have filed similar challenges to voter eligibility in Texas, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

But Georgia faces a unique battle. ..."

I guess you can always count on “The Guardian” to give accurate and non-biased information, huh.

SB202

*removed voters' ability to submit an absentee ballot request completely online by requiring a pen and ink signature

*restricted access to absentee ballot drop boxes compared to 2020

*halved the window during which absentee ballots can be requested and submitted.

*new restrictions on the ability of third-party groups to send out pre-filled absentee ballot applications.

*specified an "unlimited" number of voter challenges can be brought at any time and requires counties to adjudicate them within 10 days.

*Voting groups estimate the state has seen at least 80,000 challenges, which they warn could have a chilling effect at the ballot box.

*The secretary of state's office has acknowledged there may be a need for a policy change to add a cutoff date by which challenges should be submitted.
