Very little talk about 250 in the media.  I wasn’t around yet, but my parents and grandparents talked a lot about the excitement around the bicentennial.

I guess it makes sense. Half the country hates the USA now and the liberal media certainly doesn’t want anyone to celebrate or have fun under Trump.

For shits and giggles my grandparents toured Kankakee and Iroquois Counties that bicentennial summer with their best friends, another couple that farmed. They’d pick a couple-three towns each weekend and go grab a sandwich and/or have a pint in their taverns, take pictures with any historical things in the town, and my grandma made a scrapbook after. Wish I could go through it tomorrow with her 50 years later but we are staying down here for the holiday.

I was little, but I remember the bicentennial. I won’t blame it totally on Trump, but he’s got a lot to do with it. The most. Politics are more toxic than ever.

I am not really on the socials that much but I just expected a much longer buildup I guess given such a momentous occasion.
