I don’t know that I’ve watched 10 cumulative minutes of Fox News in my lifetime, but I am educated and have retained some of that education.

Socialism, at its core, is public ownership of means of production.

A Northern European style social democracy is not socialism. Note that it doesn’t even have socialism in its name! It offers robust social programs that are paid for with heavy tax burdens, not seizure of the means of production. Free market economies are fundamentally not socialist regardless of how big their social safety nets are.
