The DoJ/FBI got involved in Russiagate to try to stop him from winning in 2016. They got involved in 2020 and it worked out for them. And for 2024 it appears as tho they've got a shoddy case with tainted evidence.

Oh brother! Too bad there were classified documents at Biden's handful of spots, including his garage, from his days as a Senator and VP.
Too bad there were/are issues with Obama's documents. Or Bill Clinton's. Or Hillary's. Or ......

And this case is about classified "markings", and not necessarily that they may have been declassified.

If the DoJ was trying to stop Trump from winning, all they had to do was not get their hands into "Her Emails". There was no need to do anything proactive regards Trump.

If the DOJ was after Trump, why did Garland wait so long to appoint Smith?  He was pushed into it by the Select Committee.  Also, why wasn't Individual 1 prosecuted by SDNY after leaving office?  DOJ has been neglectful in pursuing rump more aggressively.

If you're referring to the Manhattan case with the prime witnesses being a porn star who can't get her stories straight and a convicted perjurer, the FEC declined to pursue. Then the previous local DA declined to pursue, then Bragg declined to pursue and then Bragg changed his mind or someone changed his mind for him to get all 4 cases going for the 2024 election.

The convicted perjurer hasn't yet been put under oath  ;D ;D in this trial.

In the event it's not a hung jury the judge will get his conviction and sentencing will be set for Fri before election Tuesday. To avoid getting slapped down on appeal, Merchan will grant a motion for a new trial before Friday based on any number of reasons.
The hoped for boxes will get checked.

Being a dirt bag is not, in and of itself, illegal. Questioning why dirt bags are testifying in these proceedings misses the forest through the trees though.
