Again, you cannot recall what you told us about joining the Marines so why would you remember the 2020 Camp David peace conference where Arafat turned down the process that would work to a 2 state solution and then went and started Intifada 2?

Why is it Ok (encouraged even) for Israel to reappropriate Palestinian land, but not Ok that Palestine get back land they have controlled since, if I’m not mistaken, hundreds of years? Israel is the one reclaiming land, not Palestine.

I’d have been like 34 years old. I think the age limit at that time was 33. I know when the fuck I joined the Marines. I joined mid December 1990 and graduated boot camp Friday March 8th 1991. Platoon 3117 Mike Company. The “war” started and ended while I was in boot camp.

The day the war started our Senior Drill instructor gathered us together and said “Boys, today our country went to war…and today, I am declaring war on you.” Then he took us to the “classroom” and “bent” us. I remember it like yesterday.

I did consider going back in after 9/11. I actually emailed a Navy recruiter about joining as an officer, as by this time I had my college degree. I mentioned that I had been discharged medically after 5 years (though I think I may have cleared if tried again). I was discharged for what was then a chronic neck sprain after a car accident in Florida. Some dude was coked up and rammed into us at a very high rate of speed at a stoplight on the highway.

Anyway, I never heard back from the Naval recruiter and I said “fuck it, then.”

I was only really interested in going back in as a Naval officer. I’d done enough time in the Marines IMO.
