You posted the article. I quoted it. The audience changed because the content changed.

'It’s true NPR has always had a liberal bent, but during most of my tenure here, an open-minded, curious culture prevailed. We were nerdy, but not knee-jerk, activist, or scolding.

In recent years, however, that has changed. Today, those who listen to NPR or read its coverage online find something different: the distilled worldview of a very small segment of the U.S. population.

If you are conservative, you will read this and say, duh, it’s always been this way.

But it hasn’t."

I posted the article and said NPR sucks.

"Like many unfortunate things, the rise of advocacy took off with Donald Trump."

There has always been advocacy journalism. Now it's worse.

The problem is they won't admit it.

NPR is used as an adjective amongst some younger people I know. “Went on a date with this girl. She was pretty, but a little too NPR for me, if you know what I mean”

Uh, the guy was complaining about it in the article. I know you read the article, but did you actually read the article?

"Like many unfortunate things, the rise of advocacy took off with Donald Trump."

There has always been advocacy journalism. Now it's needed far more than ever.

An NPR writer was complaining about it. And explaining how it came about it. There is no NPR policy preventing more balanced news coverage. NPR is not intended to be advocacy journalism. It's the polarized climate. There isn't much room in the middle.

Does that mean she talks in complete sentences and reads beyond an 8th grade level?

I think the article proves that their straying from the middle has declined their ratings by quite a bit

They are preaching to the choir.

I am not sure there is even a market for what they used to be.
