So there’s rumblings that we are going to try and get DeVito another year of eligibility for medical hardship his sophomore season. It is a definite possibility.

Also Donovan Leary’s (current freshman on the team) brother Devin Leary is transferring from NC State and is a stud. Got hurt 4 games into the season and was a bonafide NFL prospect before the injury. Set all kinds of passing records. Could he want to play his last year with and mentor his younger brother in Orange and Blue?!

After Hudson Card was off the table, he may have been the best available for us. 4 star out of HS. From 247 recruiting bio ....
"Despite really good combine athleticism, does not engage as dual-threat runner. We like as an ascending prospect that will be a Power Five starter who possesses some NFL upside. Further validation of physical tools could point to an even higher ceiling."

It's not a high bar.
His Dad is the Orthopedic surgeon for Miss State and he made the Chancellor's Honor Roll spring of 2021, so I'm guessing he's got a valid dl.
And hitting a guy in the flat is something every QB should be able to do.

Altmyer is quite an unknown. 

Positives- he had a great offer list in HS. 

Negatives - he backed up Matt Corral (an NFL 3rd rd pick), but then Lane Kiffen wasn’t sold on him and decided to bring in USC transfer Jaxon Dart who took the job.

I think he’s probably a Brandon Peters level guy.

What else could you argue?  He’s probably better than Sitkowski bc at least he hasn’t gotten on the field somewhere else and been terrible like Art was at Rutgers,but he also can’t be considered that good since Lane Kiffen went into the portal to get someone else rather than roll with the guy he recruited out of HS.

Offer lists in HS mean nothing after a couple years in college.  Look at Hunter Johnson.  Was a highly rated QB.  Went to Clemson and was behind Trevor Lawrence.  Then goes to Northwestern and still stinks there.

Taking bench guys from other teams rarely works.
