Well I would say head coaching pay or not, pay up make him the highest assistant, with a crazy buyout policy. The ILLINI have suffered for far too long too not make this overture and keep the positive going.,

Antigua never really struck me as someone who’d stuck around a place like C-U any longer than he had to. And I don’t think Josh allows him to fully utilize his bag of tricks.

With regards to Chin I certainly see the appeal of going to a blueblood and getting a pay raise but thought maybe he’d want to stay closer to Chicago.

Bill Self and Jerrance Howard aren’t from Chicago. Coleman is a Chicago native and laid the foundation for his collegiate coaching career there.

So getting recruits is the only possible reason why someone who is from Chi-town might want to stay closer to home?  You think you might have missed the point?

Right this second it sounds like most likely Antigua stays and more likely than not Chin goes. If that were to happen, you need to fill the position with another African American

I think Chin’s talents can be more easily replaced than Antigua’s, but it would be a real shame to lose either.

It’s kind of interesting Chin was brought on to be the ace Chicago recruiter (and bring Ayo with him) yet it’s looking like we won’t even have a Chicagoland kid anywhere near the rotation next year.

well, he did bring Ayo so that was positive, I could care less if he leaves to be honest  OA seems to be the only one who is actually good at development and recruiting

Per 247- the recruits that Coleman has been given credit for are not exactly a murderer's row.

Of course, he no doubt had influence on the Ayo process which seemed to be a group effort.

I think that he was seen as of high value due to the Mac Irvin Fire coaching experience, his Chicago roots, and that he played in the offense that BU was supposedly running.
His credentials are good.
I think our guard development- if that is his forte has been OK. Some improvements by Ayo due to a lot of hard work, some incremental improvements by others.

I don't think anyone on staff- including Gentry, is an ace X and O guy.
People forget that OK State had the 155th worst defense in country under BU and Gentry, and until we stopped the silly AAU scramble bullshit we were just bad defensively.
And of course, they had no plan B zone look to use when needed. 

Maybe he has felt the message by all of the money being thrown at OA, that he is not as valued, and wants to move on.
Maybe just wants to move on. Maybe Gentry is not going anywhere and is like Underwood's Barney Fife and that is a big problem.

Who the heck knows at this point.
