I would hope that players staying for the extra year, especially starters on a top 10/top 20 team, has to be good for the program's image.

When you add in RJ Melendez we will have 3 perimeter guys from PR on the floor sometimes.

We will be entertaining next year at the very least.
Should make tourney if they develop.

I think we will see more than a few games with over 25 three attempts.
We only took 17 per game this year. Made 6.35 per game.

We could start Curbelo/Frazier/Plummer/Hutcherson/Payne it appears.
Will have a pretty good bench and other options at 4 if they wish to start DMW or Grandison early in year.

If Kofi somehow ends up coming back- I will go on record that we could be better than this year.

Plummer ultimately chose Illinois over BYU, Florida, Georgia and Texas Texas. He told Illini Inquirer that Curbelo was a big reason for that.

“He’s Puerto Rican and there’s nothing better than teaming up with your people,” Plummer said. “He needs me and I need him. That was enough, because Puerto Ricans look out for each other like family.”

Plummer believes their games will complement each other extremely well. Curbelo can set him up for open looks and Plummer can capitalize. Last season, Plummer ranked in the 96th percentile of the NCAA on open catch-and-shoots by knocking them down at a 56-percent clip. On the flip side, that kind of shot-making prowess can create space for Curbelo to operate.

“I will help him and he will help me,” Plummer said. “Watch, y’all are gonna see one of the best backcourts in the nation.”

With Plummer I'm more at ease with telling Miller to fuck off. Curbelo, Trent, and Plummer on a 3G could be fun, particularly if one of the 4 candidate makes a big leap.

Also totally okay being the school in the midwest Puerto Ricans want to go to. 200k in the Chicago area and the stateside diaspora has doubled in the last 30 years. Almost as good as us recruiting Indiana at this point.

It will be interesting for sure. I like the increased versatility with the threeball more of a feature. If Hutcherson earns a starting spot at the 4 and is a contributor, we will have a lot of decent options.

Looks like the remaining questions are:

1) If Kofi gives clear indication soon that he is gone do they pursue a Robbins or a Mitchell heavily?
2) Do we redshirt any of the 3 freshman wings? (Goode/RJ/Podz) since both DMW and Grandisson are coming back?
3) Does Storr RS or wait until 2022 to come?
