Big Ten Regular Season Title
« on: March 08, 2021, 01:39:34 PM »
I just find it so hilarious that Michigan is the B1G champion yet here we are at the end of the season with IL on the 2 line despite being +.5 game over the team in first. 😂

Fuck it...these guys more than earned a share the title. Ballers. Still want them playing with that chip though!

When the Big10 decided percentage would be the determining factor, Michigan missed out on at PSU and home to Indiana and Northwestern. I counted those as 3-0, so no big deal with percentage. But that was before they lost a couple, including a beat down at home to the team that is up 1/2 game in the win-loss column.
Howard not talking to the trainer about Brooks doesn't necessarily mean the trainer didn't talk to Howard.

And fuck Izzo.

well, if the most important thing going into the NCAA tourney is no injuries, I guess getting the #2 seed in the BTT and not potentially getting MSU in the first game is a minor upside

The entire thing is a huge sore spot with me. We won the most conference games, and we played the entire schedule. Michigan ducked those three games, no question about it. And you damn well know that Michigan worked it out with Warren ahead of time before they did, and just kept it in the dark until they were pushed to make a clarification.

The timing of the announcement right before the UI/Michigan game was bush league. it was nothing more than a declaration, with no explanation. The fans and the league deserve more than that. Piss poor communication and leadership.

When you look at how he handled Football, Warren is no doubt the most inept commissioner in recent history.

Insult to injury - we flipped places with them in the rankings.

Underwood had a $125,000 incentive for a B1G regular season title.

So, not that it matters to me all that much, but that bullshit hit Brad in the wallet.

Then again, prolly should have went ahead and beat Maryland at home.

If that is the case then the UI AD donors who were bankrolling that should pay up anyway.
And he needs to split it with his staff.

I don’t see why the B1G can’t agree to a co championship given the circumstances. They changed the rules before.

If it were Ohio State or MSU, they probably would. But, it's Illinois...they don't give a shit. Their silence says it all

The refs certainly had the marching orders to get them into tourney. I wanted them to beat Michigan because I wanted more controversy around the title but I thought they got plenty of help yesterday. They hit a lot of shots though so give them credit. The foul calls didn’t have much disparity but it seemed like the big ones really favored MSU.

I loved the one where Rocket Watts hit Smith with a forearm shiver on a drive and put him flat on his back. No call.
The Illini and OSU games were a total joke. That said- MSU is probably playing better than the rest of the lower division train wreck teams that the BIG is getting in like Rutgers, Wisconsin and MD.
None of them should be in during a normal year.
Wisconsin is 0-8 vs top 5 teams in BIG and did not beat a Top 25 Power 5 team all year.
