This was more than an off night. We were horrid. I am beginning to doubt we can make a deep tourney run. How do you correct this shit free throw shooting and reckless turnovers this late in the season?

Bad night. They manhandled us. Old style MSU which is beat on you all night physically and hope to pull it out.  Officials lost control of it early.
They got in our head and we played like shit.

Nice gameplan by Izzo. Only chance they had was drag us into the mud and it worked.

The number of missed easy shots (not even including FTs) was mind boggling. We missed a couple bunnies out of the gate and they were playing physical/altering shots and just got in our heads.

Most of the missed bunnies we had were rushed or looked like our player was anticipating contact and just kind of pushed the ball. Most of the other missed inside shots were altered.

Despite every opportunity to get back in the game down the stretch, Giorgi getting stuffed by the rim felt like game over to me.

I spent a lot of 2020 screen capping people's Zoom rooms, as seen on TV.

I like John Heilemann's kitchen. James Carville has a great ceiling.

Stuart Stevens has a good home office, but his living room is ghastly.

Yeah, they were beating us up from the start, and daring the refs to call it. It worked. The refs didn’t do anything about it until MSU had a 15-point lead and it was evident there was going to be brawls or injuries or both. Those refs should be ashamed. If they had called the entire game tighter from the start, it wouldn’t have gotten out of hand.

We obviously had a horrible shooting night, but I think a lot of our troubles were a result of being tired. Part of that is on Underwood for not substituting better (Hawkins in particular should have played more). Part of it is on the refs too though, getting physically beaten is exhausting.

We just had a blowout. They likely had easy prep days ahead of this unless staff are idiots.

They mentally were not ready once again.
Anyone could have seen MSU was going to throw everything they had at us and had just played well.

Kofi played like an idiot. Pass the fcking ball. Hope he speaks Turkish as he is heading for low level Euroball.

Ayo looked clueless. Like pre Xmas second round Ayo.
Miller brings next to nothing.

Georgi was a joke.

Really lack toughness. Thought they were turning corner.
The team last year would have kicked our ass.

This is the worst MSU season in decades but they are fighting for their tournament lives now. Izzo might be an asshole, but he hasn't forgotten how to coach. He wasn't going to allow his guys to lay down and die all season long. They were bound to look like vintage Sparty at some point.

This team is soft. There are a few guys who act tough but the team overall is soft. They get frustrated when teams play physical and fall apart. Brad needs to learn that Lute Olson PSA to the officials from 2001 to use ahead of games with teams that play defense.

I don’t think they’re really that soft just lacking in length, bounce and quick twitch athleticism.

I have said it before but BU talked a lot about positionless basketball then went and built a very positioned basketball team. No surprise we routinely struggle with teams with more modern construction.
