Bad home loss. Terrible shot selection and BU outcoached by Turgeon.

Giorgi has regressed about as much as any player I can remember from end of freshman year to middle of junior year.

Yeah, he is a man without a real function in this unstructured offense. He is lost.
His role seems to be to give Kofi a few minutes blow at the 5 and sit down.
Hard to play them both as Georgi can't stay with athletic 4's or handle PnR, and cannot hit an outside shot. Teams can then drop down on Kofi easier.
G is best if he is at Center and gets a lot of minutes. Kofi playing a lot better now the last few games, so less tick.

We have some roster makeup issues and depth issues. We do not have a stretch 4 type to use with some height and length and athleticism. Would be good to get Hawkins or Grandison more involved and in there more.

We really play a small 4 guard lineup and Kofi.

We need a 3/4 type guy to develop off the bench.
When watching Iowa and others I think we are going to have match up issues. They can play much bigger than us and we are not uber athletic ot make up for our size issues.

Illinois has no good 4 which is huge in today’s game.

Rely way too much on talented inexperienced freshmen and limited upperclassmen. This team was better with Feliz and Griffin.

They can’t shoot free throws and don’t appear to run an actual offense.

Can’t get big stops on defense and critical defensive rebounds.

Take long stretches off mentally and physically.

Enjoy this season which will be the peak of Brad Underwhelm’s tenure at UIUC.

Well, that was not very nice.
LOL.

Agree we were better more balanced and much tougher team at end of last year.
Griffin loss was huge. And we had a little more size and length we could throw in there at times.
We have no bench right now, except Curbelo.

We have time to get it together, but better get moving now.

Controversial opinion (or maybe not)...

Kofi is really good....but I’d trade his skill set for an average center (a guy) and a good #3 with size and range all day without hesitation

Too much work sometimes to get him the ball and involved in the game.
