Michigan St has to hold the record for most appearances in Final Four by teams that really weren’t thought to be Final Four quality.

Lol, I don't share your disdain for Izzo. That's reserved for Bob Knight. MSU didn't win pretty, but it won often over the years under Izzo. FWIW, Illinois is on its @7th head coach in both basketball and football since Izzo took over in East Lansing.

PSU handles Wisconsin rather easily. Put up 50 in second half.
Badgers are really not very good. Best win is Loyola Chicago and then Indiana.
Not easy team to play due to discipline, but mediocre overall.

Yeah Wisconsin really making me regret defending them the other day. Thought their floor was much much higher than losing to a really limited and beleaguered PSU ream

I'd be happy if Illinois made the Final Four (multiple times) with teams most thought wouldn't make it that far in the tournament. Overachieving is a very good thing during March Madness; underachieving, not so much.
