Dude - it was Trump. He's fucking demented.

The literal threat was to take out the power plants and bridges. That's electricity and transport, which fucks up water, food, hospitals. Unless Trump was going to follow this up with substantial food and water aid, which was not in place for Gaza let alone Iran, a lot of people would die, and their overall economy would take a massive long term hit. There would be refugees headed towards other nearby countries that could barely serve their own people.

There were never gonna be nukes. Besides, it was all a shell game to manipulate the stock market, as PAMan and myself can tell you as we made massive profits going long yesterday. Right, Gregg?

Talk is cheap.  A twitter post that may or may not contain accurate information.  I think I’ll wait to see what the “total surrender” or “total obliterated” deal looks like in two weeks.

Meanwhile we have a worse version of the same regime in Iran that maintains drone, missile and nuclear weapons research capabilities.  It will be interesting to see if Iran keeps some form of its tariffs on Hormuz commerce. 

Thankfully, Pakistan and other Asian countries worked behind the scenes to provide Trump with a possible off-ramp. 

This is a War of Whim.

The literal threat was nukes. Not that he was ACTUALLY going to do it, but you don’t wipe out a civilization forever by knocking out their power grid.
