Why is that "historic?"

Seems like Merrick Garland's DOJ could have met with them too. In addition to reviewing the files and not redacting Trump's name.

The files hadn’t been released yet. Guessing Congress knows a lot more than they did then. Reasonable question, I guess, but I wouldn’t be focused on the woulda could shoulda. Again, you seem to be more preoccupied with attacking the past Democratic administration than the current one. Bring Garland in to testify. I’d be all for it.

I am wondering why the files had not been reviewed before and where all the newfound outrage is from.

What is Garland going to say? "I was too busy being bamboozled by Judge Cannon's delay tactics to look at the Epstein Files."????

Yes, but it can always get worse for Trump. The first big dump of Epstein files only happened last week, and the public is still digesting what’s in it, and what still hasn’t been released.
