I get that he’s done a nice job at Iowa State but the Big 12 is historically weak right now. Texas is down. Baylor is down. Texas Tech is down. TCU is down. WV is down. Oklahoma isn’t as good as they’ve been recently.

Iowa State lost to Louisiana by 17 and perennial fraudsters Oklahoma State. They, like a bad K State team, caught Oklahoma napping at the beginning of the year. They’re getting pantsed so far in this game by that same Oklahoma team.

I cannot see any reason this team deserves to be ranked 6th in the country and in the conversation for CFP. I’m not quite sure Matt Campbell is the absolute stud he’s made out to be. He is doing a nice job at a historically tough place to win but I believe a lot of it has to do with the mediocrity of the conference.

I think this whole year gets an asterisk.
Some teams seem to have had a lot of trouble this year, either getting out of the gate, injuries, or Covid.
