Easily outcoached today. We're in a road NBA venue and have our post players chucking 3s while they run a disciplined offense that we're not prepared for.

No 30- 0 run; Underachiever is improving.

NO ONE, other than Boswell scores for 7 + minutes I believe they said, we cut it to 10 (fluke) and then chuck 3 missed 3's, a turnover, and fouls....damn with or without the entire team healthy and practicing, we ARE NOT who we thought we were YET.

March I still believe this team will be a very tough out before sweet 16, after that...anything is possible win or lose.

The reliance on 3's is smoke and mirrors, we just don't shoot them consistantly well enough to be that team that can rely on them.

Karaban looked to be all over Humrichovic's back on the rebound

He was, BU caught and complained late about it

They said the bucket was good within the original shot clock.
Probably didn't matter but there's no way you can conclude that based on what was on-screen.

Didn't hit the rim at all, over the back, 2 seconds left, Smith dribbles back, NO WAY that counted in original shot clock....NO WAY it had any bearing on the outcome either though. Bad call, and more importantly Bad overall ILLINI loss

Boswell A
Lee A-defense only
Humrichous C
Big Z C
Tomi F
Wagler (F)reshman
Stoyokavic (was he even here today-F)
Davis F
Petrovic B-
Mirkovic D

Coaching staff D, can't keep doing the 3 dance, drive, get into lane, good things happen.

Zone today off an on, need more of this with Big Z being the defender.

Agree on both points.

Tomi had a double double.
Petrovic was 1-7 from the floor with 3 turnovers and we don't handle the ball well in the lane.

We don't handle the ball well in the lane.

The primary ball handlers do, they can still penetrate and dish, problem is our offense ONLY calls for the dishes to be 3's...we need back cuts/back doors, especially on over playing teams, along with some easy 12-15' shots. That with strong defense AND some 3's will win most games for us. 6-29 today is horrendous.

Would love to see a starting 5 of Humrichous, Boswell, Tomi, Wagler, Mirkovic, 2nd Unit Big Z, Andrej, and Petrovic, Davis and Lee sprinkled in with some mix. Andrej is really good in the lane/driving/short pull ups, but overall I think he is soft.

I’d like to try the novel concept of getting our 7 footers shots near the rim and not just from 3.

I loved that one possession where Bam got the rebound by the free throw line then just dribbled facing the basket instead of taking a wide open jumper or passing it to Wagler who was all alone under the basket. He then dribbled out and shot a 25’ fade away 3 as the shot clock expired. Game in a nutshell right there.

The 4 point slop shot play was a back breaker when they had been ice cold and we could have cut it to 4 point lead on the other end. But who am I kidding, we weren’t even drawing iron on 3s at that point.

Tomi got all of his when it didn't really matter, game was out of hand....that said, fine he got a double double, we all can get one at any burger shop. Petrovic may have had 3 turnovers, but him and Bam together is how this team will win/lose moving forward. He is a true lead guard that is JUST now getting minutes to make a difference.

Take away the 4 point play and we would have had a chance to cut it to 4. Tomi had his points by then by then and maybe his rebounds.

I unfortunately (or fortunately in this case) was not able to catch this or the Bears game due to work obligations.

Sounds like it was more of the same 3 point brick contest with a John Groce special moral victory comeback at the end to cap things for us.

But let's not lose sight of the important things: Bradislav Underwoodivic knows how to rock a tracksuit!
