Another kid James Augustine was not even considered a prospect out of HS really (rankings) at 6'9-215....same kind of kid/player. Augustine went on to become the first/only ILLINI with 1000 pts/1000 rebounds in a career. If this kid ends up being anything like Augustine at #228 ranking-per 24/7, then man do we have another good one.

We stole him away from his 3 scholarship offers: Drake, UNI and UIC.
Let's go Landon !!!

He joins 4 star guard Ethan Brown, whose offer list isn't much better, from Rolla, Mizzurah in the 2026 class.

In this weird era we need a few multi year developmental/practice players that know the system and hopefully eventually play some meaningful minutes as upperclassmen. The top end freshmen one and dones like Riley and KJ aren’t winning shit these days, and taking guys 40-150 range transfer before they contribute because they usually don’t see the floor early.

I'd rather see Davis be a 1000/1000 guy than Fields on the field if it's an either/or. But that's just me. Others may differ.
