I'm not delusional enough to believe that Illinois football is suddenly some week in, week out powerhouse like Alabama or OSU because of last year. Consistent 9-3 and 8-4 seasons are A-ok with me. And if they sprinkle in a CFP appearance every now and then, that's just icing on the cake.

I was hopeful and reasonably optimistic of a playoff bid. Then I saw a non-competitive team in Bloomington. We’re trending in the right direction, but as you said; we’re not there yet.
