Believe me, I like Ben Johnson way more than I ever did Eberflus. So you’re barking up the wrong tree. Ben Johnson is the first coach they’ve ever hired where I was confident they landed the right guy. I took a wait and see approach with Eberflus (since he was gonna be here anyway). I’ll be pretty surprised if Ben Johnson fails here.

I'm not talking about PAman and his opinions. I'm talking about yours. You told us, ad nauseum, that we had to give Fields 30 starts. No matter how bad he looked, when we fired on him, you took it as a personal attack, which was weird.

I'm really afraid that Caleb sucks and he is mentally weak. But I'm going to give him 30. When he performs well I will acknowledge it. When he sucks, I will also acknowledge it. No fucking agendas, no bullshit.

Unless he totally flames out Caleb should get at least 3 years. Where did I say anything different? He’s got major issues and minus the first drive he looked like the same guy from last year (but a little faster). I haven’t said a god damn thing about benching him or moving on. You’re trying too hard be offended here.

Well, you were way rougher on him after last night than you ever were with Eberlose.

I actually agree with you btw. He had a bad game last night, especially the 4th quarter. Fucking Kevin O'Connell spun him around and fucked him in the ass, and laughed at him while he was doing it.

I do have a little higher expectations for Caleb though, since he came in as the #1 overall pick and was billed as “generational.” Caleb came in with more hype and has more to work with than Justin ever had (by a mile). And again, I haven’t said a god damn thing about benching him or moving on. PAMan though was pissed last week that Thomas Brown didn’t bench him (yet shields Caleb from any and all criticism when it comes from me).

I really don’t think I was. He was bad. I also have higher expectations for Johnson than Flus. I thought Johnson came into Chicago 100% ready for the job, I felt Eberflus would need more trial and error. I am not out on Johnson or Caleb. Not by a longshot. I’m more worried about Caleb than Johnson, though. I’m not saying Caleb should be early Patrick Mahomes, but he can’t be missing wide open guys multiple times per game by zip codes.

You're way more critical of Caleb than you ever were about Bustin. If you say different, the conversation is over.

I'm not offended at all. I'm just calling out some of your bullshit. When Eberlose and Bustin was here and I was pissed at the shit ass Bears, I had to fucking come on here and read your bullshit about how I was overreacting and didn't know shit about football. Now, when the shit ass Bears do what they normally do, I have to watch you bitch about Johnson and Caleb and see how pissed your are about it. It's just weird and different.

I'm the same. I'm fucking pissed about last night. They should have won that fucking game. I know in years past, if that would have happened with Eberlose and Bustin, and I was pissed and ranting, you would have been telling me to settle my ass down. It's just interesting to me. That's all.

Your fandom is agenda based. Period.

Kevin O’Connell is very good. We missed the boat on him. I swear to god I blame Trace Armstrong. All we did was hire his clients for 3 years. It’s a shame he had George’s confidence.

That, again, is your fault for believing the "experts" who all liked Ryan Leaf and the Short Bus Twotter Football Fans instead of listening to me, who watched him actually play on my TV and said not to pick him.

And yes, as I told you, if the info in that article was remotely true, Brown should have benched his ass.

I am standing by my Hot Take that Bagent is going to be starting 2-3 games at some point this season.

Agree about missing passes. The rest is fucking garbage.

Kevin O'Connell has some damn good football players on his squad. Hell, he has Justin Jefferson and 2 running backs that would start for the Bears right damn now.

Wish I had his problems.

Johnson made head scratching decisions last night. The special teams decision making was especially bewildering. There are now Red Flags. Not good. I am more worried about him. Caleb can be gone in a year or 2 and replaced before then. Johnson isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Yes. It's concerning. There is a real possibility that we have a bunch of guys that can't play. Caleb included.

I can explain why I’m more critical of Caleb than Justin (I shouldn’t have to but I can):

1) Caleb (best prospect since Andrew Luck)

2) Justin was never set up to succeed. Forced to play without proper preparation (was not day 1 starter as a rookie). The GM literally tore the team down around him year 2. Literally half the team was on one year deals. He had much worse talent around him than Caleb does. Caleb has been built around, Justin was set up to fail (and should have needed more development than Caleb).

3) I literally told PAMan and Judy that while I’m a Bears fan and rooting for Caleb longterm they (and people here) are going to hear about it from me at every turn when he does something wrong. I had to hear it, you guys are getting some payback.  I’ve actually been far kinder to Caleb than some here have been to Fields.

This is where Tempo usually jumps in to defend His Guy Poles....

I still think it’s mostly fixable. Yes, I want a couple more stars, but the talent is there for a very good team IMO. They just have to get things figured out. The lions started out 1-6 a few years ago and shortly thereafter became a big problem for opponents. Hoping that happens here.
