Myth Busting: “No one would want this job!”
« on: December 21, 2024, 09:19:34 AM »
NY Jets:

• family criticizes players in lockeroom
• owner nixed trade based on Madden ratings
• owner answers to his teenage kid on  football matters
• I think there were other outlandish shenanigans but I forgot what they were

Let’s get rid of the myth that the Bears are somehow the most dysfunctional franchise in the league. Most franchises are at least somewhat dysfunctional and these jobs are very hard to get. Most of these candidates are hot commodities 1-2 years. There is rarely such thing as a “great situation” for an incoming HC. That’s why they are looking for a new HC. The Bears job is likely the most desirable job that will open up this year. Look around the league. There are few “great situations.” No one wanted to go to KC until Reid took the job.

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

No one said they were the most dysfunctional but they’re closer to NYJ and Jax territory than they are to Pittsburgh, GB, KC, etc.

And again, those jobs aren’t open. And haven’t been for a long time…

Also again, KC was a place coaches went to die until Reid resurrected their franchise.

The thought of the McCaskeys finally selling, but ending up with Bezos or Musk is kinda gross.

Why can’t it be Warren Buffett?

Or the Panthers. Or the Jags. Or the Cowboys. Or the Browns. Or the Giants. Or the Raiders. Or the Cardinals.

Hey Florio, I need you to put “Bears should trade for DC Steve Spagnuolo” out into the ether.

Bengals, Texans, Lions, Chargers, Commanders, Chiefs, Dolphins, Colts, are other franchises that have all been a joke recently, too.

Yet somehow they all found candidates willing to take those jobs.

They didn't have Sweaty Teddy and now Warren.

The Bear best hire since Ditka was Lovie Smith?

Yeah, they had guys like Tepper, Irsay, Jerry Jones, and Marc Davis (I could easily add more). Get it through your thick heads that there’s a lot of stupid, meddlesome ownership out there.
