Nobody likes the higher gas taxes in Illinois.  However, there is a silver lining.  Roads, bridges, rail and other related infrastructure are getting repaired/upgraded (especially downstate) after years of deferred maintenance.

Amen to that. The roads where I live are a huge improvement. It started right after  Pritzker was elected.

The roads and railroad crossings in rural NE Illinois  were horrendous.  Beyond Bad. Scheduled overpass repair projects took years to complete.  There was a 180 when Pritzker replaced Rauner.  Nobody around here appreciates it though. They are still upset about mask mandates. Also angry that the election was stolen from Trump.   

Gas prices here are right around $3.98.

Who pays for repairs to the overpasses? Those are state, county, city roads that pass over interstates.

I suggest you check out how much the temperature fluctuates here in reno, especially in winter
much less precipitation of course but our wet season is the fall-spring
they don't use road salt (thank god), but they brine the roads and use sand

I went to the military so I wouldn’t be in debt after college, my kids did the same, now I have to pay for the debt others racked up getting a worthless degree they can’t monetize !?!?

The whole reason college is so expensive is because the government got involved in the first place

Your kids went to the military and were paid enough to not have debt for a four year degree?

Why are we paying that much to kids who are just going to leave the military after we train them?
