It does. It creates demand for goods and services. Under normal circumstances, this creates jobs to provide those goods and services. Expansion of low income refundable tax credits drove economic growth during the Reagan and Clinton years.

Inflation starting falling during Reagan's first term and kept falling until the covid recovery bottlenecks. It fell despite massive government spending and QE after the Great Recession of 2007 and 2008.

Republicans are ecstatic that inflation finally coincided with deficit spending.
Still, coincidence does not prove causation.

Had a hilarious dream last night. Dreamt I was inside the White House and finagled my way into an area I wasn’t supposed to be in and stumbled upon Joe Biden”/ orphaned 2 year old grandson (he doesn’t have one obviously) and he was sitting inside what was basically a large cubby hole by a window. He seemed he wasn’t  being well attended to and he told me he was thirsty and I’m traipsing around the commissary and back halls of the White House with no authorization to be there trying to find him a juice box lol

I think it’s rooted in a time I was in the US Capitol building and roaming around in lonely back halls not sure if I was somewhere I wasn’t supposed to be.

Right. Helping the wealthy by privatizing profits and socializing losses is good for the economy. But helping ordinary folks causes inflation. The far right has pushed this bullshit theory for decades, despite a total lack of supporting empirical evidence, and plenty to the contrary.
