He has, to put it charitably, the most uncommon sense on the board.

But sincerely religious people tend to believe that their particular variety of mental illness is "common sense." So I wondered.

My thesis here relies on my contention that most people who involve themselves in organized religion are apatheists. They don't care whether the tenets are true. If they attend church it's for social, cultural, family and/or (most importantly) business purposes.

Republicand keep spreading the lie that government spending  causes inflation. The bulk of current inflation is global and has to do covid related factors.

Part of it is unique to the US and is due to labor shortages driving up.wages. There is apparently no wage factor in global inflation because the rest of the developed world already pays an acceptable wage?

Demand for oil cratered in 2020, causing lower prices. So producers cut back supply. Then demand increased last year, driving up prices. Now they are cautiously increasing production.

Republicans are blaming Biden for cancelling keystone xl and new drilling on public land. They are predicting and hoping prices stay high and even increase through November.

Supply chain bottlenecks are a big part of inflation too. Republicans have to hope they don't resolve before the fall elections.
