Definitely a lot more holes to poke in Poles over the last 6 weeks, but I think most of the outrage is an overreaction. What was Ryan Pace's biggest weakness? Not hitting on day one and two picks. Ryan Poles has hit on every 1st and 2nd round pick he's had in 3 years. And that's 7 picks, 4 of them 2nds. Caleb, Rome, Wright, Dexter, Gordon, Brisker, and everyone thought Stevenson was good until his mental meltdown in Maryland.

It's too bad he traded for Claypool (although you can justify why he did it).  That pick could have been Joey Porter (and was for Pittsburgh). I'm stil convinced that with a better coach and an offensive season addressing some obvious needs (which they have the resources to do), things could be looking bright again.

I agree with this regarding Poles…
Because FOX News told me so…

*off-season* not offensive season

If you could assure me that the new GM is an upgrade (you probably couldn't), I'd be willing to listen. Poles has done some good things here. The Bears need to find some long-term stability, and I think pulling the plug on Poles is premature.

It’s so Bears that they’d make an arranged marriage of sorts coaching situation for a new GM while trying to rebuild. Should never be in that spot.

A) Does that include Warren?

B) Who would you hire as GM?

That includes Warren.

I am not going to say that I know NFL front offices at all to say X is the guy. It is obvious Poles and Warren aren't the guys though. Maybe Mike Florio will weigh in

So who hires the new people? George? George and Bill Polian? George, Ernie Acorsi, and that animal on Ernie’s head?

Not a convincing argument to make a new hire

Not a convincing argument to make a new hire

Because this current crew is doing a bang up job

The devil you know can be better than the devil you don’t. Again, there’s a reason Bill Belichick viewed this as the most desirable job opening this off season.

It must be the OL and DL roster construction. It can't be the QB!

With this logic, Bruce Weber would still be the Illini coach.
