No one with a functioning brain thinks Ryan Poles deserves to lose his job this year. He is not going anywhere for at least a couple years. Has he been perfect? No. But that’s an absurd standard. No GM or coach is perfect. We can’t even be sure he wasn’t handed Eberflus as his head coach. I believe there’s an excellent chance George told Poles “choose one of these three.” Afterall, they were interviewing coaches before they even had a GM. Poles will get another HC hire if he wants one. And he should. I’d give his overall grade a B to B+. He’s rebuilt the roster to a point where they are an up and coming team in basically two years. Most GMs would still be 2-5 in this case.

Flus: I think he has some nice positives as a coach. Good at building relationships, pretty good defensive coach, the players play for him. But just too many in-game mistakes and the learning curve as a HC just doesn’t seem to be there. He’s a lot like Lovie IMO. Has some positives as a HC but just can’t out coach enough other coaches on game day. 4 blown games in which they had a 95% chance to win is pretty damning. I think Flus is toast minus a 7-3 finish. And he needs 6-4 to even entertain the idea of keeping his job IMO. The tough part of the schedule hasn’t even gotten here yet. He’s likely gone minus something pretty terrific.

Firing Flus last year would have been a tough break for him, but would have been defendable. I’d argue Doug Collins didn’t deserve to be fired by the Bulls but that worked out pretty good.

His replacement needs to be an offensive guy. At this point, Slowik is probably my choice, but that day isn’t here yet. But it’s almost certainly coming.

Waldron is a big problem. Just when it looked like he was turning a corner that MFer went full Getsy yesterday. He may be worse than Getsy.

I still think there’s a strong likelihood that Poles was told by George and Polian he could choose one of three candidates they’d already interviewed. Why else do HC interviews before GM interviews like the Bears did? I’m not sold that Flus was strictly Poles’ guy.

Please defend one of your idiots, Poles, waiving a FB only to have the ball given to a backup C at the goal line.

Please defend signing Lazy Sweat who is never on the field at crunch time.

The fact you think Fields is any good is apparently how you can defend morons like Poles and Eberlose.

Please defend why your guy Poles has a rookie from Yale playing LT.

Please defend why your guy Eberlose never seems to have his teama ready to play at the start of the game and what exectly the Bear did on the bye week to get ready for this game.

Please defend your guy Eberlose and all the pre-snap penalties by the OL.

Because the starter was hurt, and Larry Borom is on IR.

I thought the Kramer call was atrocious. Why would I defend it?

You and like 3 other people are unhappy with the Sweat deal.

When did he become “my guy?” There are some things I like about him, but I’ve said lots of times he seems to be a better coach than head coach. I’ve said lots of times he needs to get better at the little things. As a HC, he’s a good defensive coordinator…

Mid 3rd round seems like good value on Amegadjie.

See: Young, Bryce. Richardson, Anthony. Jones, Mac. Et al.

2 of the 3 listed were starting yesterday. Nonetheless, they are not Bears, thankfully.

I can’t. I wouldn’t. It’s unacceptable. That’s why I expect Flus will be fired at the end of the year, and replaced with a guy like Slowik. I’m looking forward to the probable upgrade.
