Don’t overlook that Israel is running an apartheid state, btw. The great example of democracy in the Middle East!

You're almost as bad as the MAGAt I talked to on the street today.

It's pretty amusing. In mixed company - the MAGAs always waffle around and give dog whistles under their breath, thinly veiled.
At one point he said "you and I are both smart, and thinkers, trying to figure out which way to go", I said "I'm not figuring anything out, I already figured out what I'm going to do, and I've got the balls to say so".

Along the way I talked about how Trump was throwing all sorts of random BS against the wall, like "no taxes on tips" - I said that I think it's bullshit that if someone at McDonalds earns $20 in wages, and the Applebee's waitress earns $5 in wages and $15 in tips, the waitress gets a $15/hour tax deduction. Pay taxes on your income. Period. If the taxes are too high, lower them. If we need more taxes but want to tax McDonald's and Applebees workers less, lower the bottom bracket and raise the top brackets.

His response was "no taxes on tips was Harris' idea, they passed it, it was 50/50 in the Senate and she passed the tiebreaker vote!"

A lot to unpack here. He thinks it's a bad idea because supposedly Harris rammed it through. But Dear Leader wants it to happen, despite it apparently being a bad idea, one that has already happened. I mentioned that "no, tips are currently taxed" and he got all into a fit saying "he had researched it". I calmly noted that we haven't had substantial tax legislation since Trump's 2017 tax "cuts", at which point he told me that "you don't research things!"

That seems to have a lot to do with apartheid and genocide.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I meant a pithy quip, not a rambling parable.

What does that have to do with Tim Walz?

Trumpers are worried that you have cornered the tinfoil hat market.

He's a progressive.  He likes to lose national elections.

We literally just gave standing ovation after standing ovation in the U.S. Capitol to a guy conducting genocide and you think our leadership isn’t kowtowing to Israel?

I think they stood up for the Ethiopian IDF soldier there who ran 8 miles with his gun to kill Gazan scum on 10/7 because he did not have a ride to join the battle.

Apartheid and starvation are two completely different things.

I have standards.

Losing national elections is a great standard to have.

The process has been rigged since the 60s. Eisenhower warned us about it. Last time we had a strong progressive in the WH they changed the rules because he kept getting re-elected.

They need to shitcan the electoral college. Everyone's vote should count. If I live in downstate Illinois, which I do, I have little incentive to vote because Chicago pretty much dictates where my vote will go, regardless of how I vote.

If I decide to vote for a republican for president, it really doesn't matter.

You want to shitcan the electoral college, but you are complaining that your vote isn't worth as much as 3 million votes of the residents of Cook County.

I mean, I agree with you, but you don't make a very strong argument here.
