The Fighting Underdogs vs Rutgers
« on: November 11, 2020, 08:37:58 AM »
Illinois opens as 7-point underdogs to the Scarlet Knights who haven't been favored in a Big Ten game since 2014.
We are who we are.

Oh, why not. I've watched Illinois football for 50 years. We are who we are, and we'll sneak in a win somewhere. Maybe.
Every facet of our game is lacking, other than the kicking game. Reminds me of when our punter was the team MVP.
Our OL was thought to be an asset because of their experience, but being 6'4" 310 lb juniors and seniors doesn't make up for being not as athletic or as physical as the people they're going up against.
It's a little frustrating when the players don't give up vs PU and give themselves a chance, then have no carry over to the next game. After which Lovie says 'we're better than what we showed so we'll make some changes. Chase Brown will get more carries'.
Which may mean he gets 5 instead of 4, but the qb still has more rushing attempts than Epstein and Ford combined.
I'll admit, I did flip channels to the Fla vs Georgia game for a few minutes. Night and day difference.
But I'll be in front of the tv for the start of the Rutgers game, watch the game, and hope for the players to get a win.

We have the worst secondary in the history of college football and our running game makes me want to puke.

Was he MVP 70 or 71?  Can't quite recall.  I left the end of 71.

I knew him as a Guinness sipper, when I was a bartender.

My band played Nature's Table a few times circa 1990. But I don't remember him from that era. I think they were home with their kids by the time we'd be loading in.

That was 71. Blackman's first year. We had those gawd awful helmets with the stripes on the sides sometime during Blackman. But I dont know if it was his first year.

1) the head coach you are paying 5 million dollars a year to sits his ass on a recliner in Scottsdale all winter while his competitors are out working their assess off. No, that’s not made up.

2) the talent on the roster sucks, outside of a few guys up at the top. It’s almost like completely suck ass recruiting rankings year after year tell the story...

3) the “ let’s grab the towel boy from _____ University” transfer model actually isn’t as innovative and genius as some thought. Heck, it’s almost like working your ass off recruiting HS kids is the way to go? Go figure!

4) His staff is truly terrible. Some position coaches are as bad as you could dream of.

5) Breal31 was AOTC on Lovie Smith being a disaster.

Maybe you can give Breal your "Tempo Award" so you can accept the vaunted JudgeJudy Award?
